Traye hosted a 5 hour Youth- Arts Day with a series of creative workshops at The Civic Hall in Totnes!
It was a Spring themed Arts day with a variety of fun and inspiring projects including drawing and painting using natural materials.
This gave the young people a chance to get creative and express themselves through art with the help of Local Artists and TRAYE Youth Workers.
Massive shout out and thankyou to local artists Craig and Stella, who brought truly inspiring creative methods to the day that the young people just LOVED!
A highlight being the ‘collective canvas’ which took on a life of its own! With the young people using a whole lot of organic turmeric, beetroot, paprika, coffee, rooibos tea, charcoal and all kinds of other natural paints as well as chalk pastels to creative an evolving masterpiece!
Flowers & plants were the inspiration and materials for the day. Each young person received a brown paper bag containing a sketch book, pencil & other art resources. Our aim was to use natural products throughout.
Some extra thanks also to Jin @ Paperworks Totnes for supplying lots of amazing eco friendly art supplies at a reduced price and for the freebies too .
Thanks also to Totnes Town Council for helping pay for the art resources and supporting young people in the local area .
It was a joy to see the young people learning about Permaculture and Anthoptypes on a gloriously sunny day last Friday. A day in fields and the woods on some beautiful land near Littlehempston, the young people had a wonderful time learning and playing outdoors in the sunshine . Thanks to everyone involved for making this happen, especially Chris Smith of
for hosting and running the workshops.
